Vogue Magazine Sample Typography

This Vogue magazine redesign is a way to reimagine the typographical layout of a traditional magazine. Inspiration was pulled from reading many current Vogue issues, as well as more experimental, yet elegant magazines such as Zembla and Blackberry Farm.

By using a variety of different column widths, image sizes, and non-traditional quote treatments, an asymmetrical, yet evenly balanced composition was formed. The overarching identity of Vogue was not to be altered, so there is still a sense of art, sophistication, and sleekness.

“The public is more familiar with bad design than good design. It is, in effect, conditioned to prefer bad design, because that is what it lives with. The new becomes threatening, the old reassuring.” — Paul Rand  ══════⊹⊱≼≽⊰⊹════════════⊹⊱≼≽⊰⊹════════════⊹⊱≼≽⊰⊹════════════⊹⊱≼≽⊰⊹══════
